Brooklyn artist Ben Angotti works in dualities. A classically trained artist, he
juxtaposes high Romantic themes and Symbolism with urban street art and graffiti to create powerful commentaries on modernity, sensuality, and the dark recesses of the human soul. Ben works in oils, acrylic, and spray paint to create works that are at once temporal and timeless. Eros and Thanatos ground his work thematically. His female forms are ethereal, and carry a sense of the fleeting moment that they convey.
Ben is a Pratt Institute graduate with a BFA in Painting. During and after college he has worked as a freelance painter, illustrator, muralist and sculptor. He has also
been in many group and solo shows, and participated in Artbattle live painting
competitions, winning many.
Ben has worked with a range of clients, from MTV to Silverstein properties. His
most recognized work is an 80 ft. mural currently on 2 World Trade Center to the
right of the entrance to the famous Oculus, and shadowed by One World Trade
Center itself
